Why post here instead of social media?

Social media allows you to broadcast your work to the largest possible audience, but you sacrifice some agency in the process. Ultimately an algorithm will decide who can see what you create, moderators will make editorial decisions, and slowly your data will be siphoned and sold without your knowledge.

This is a place where I could share my writing with the people I love, and with anyone who cares to read. A place outside of the big content and data farms of the internet. A personal web-journal, real words from a real person.

What do you write?

Mostly poetry, but also essays, reviews, and other whimsy.

The title, “Place-In-Space”, suggests a theme for my work. Writing that is inspired by place and people, and that tries to understand them within a larger global or universal context. Writing that zooms in to see the particular beauty of a leaf, and zooms out to admire the spiral arms of galaxies.
